A documentary based on the memoir written in 2017 by Sid Luft, the third of Judy Garland's five husbands, about their years together, during which he was involved with her film A Star Is Born and her career as a concert performer.。一个年轻人被关进了“马卡”监狱，这所监狱位于科特迪瓦的森林中，监狱由犯人自治。根据这所监狱的传统，这里的老大指定他为新的“说书人”，他必须要给其他的犯人讲一个故事。了解到自己将面临怎样的命运后，他开始讲述传奇罪犯“扎马王”的神秘人生。他别无选择，只能让这个故事持续到破晓之时。。
