故事描述一名神秘的疯狂幻想家赛布克占领了一个遥远的星球，劫持星际大使作人质，强迫企业号宇宙飞船紧急出发，进入没有人做访过的未知宇宙去寻找传说中的上帝，但上帝到底是谁呢？。Inspired by W.G. Sebald’s book and based on WWII archive footage, the film puts forward the question: is it morally acceptable to use civilian population as a means of war? Is it possible to justify mass destruction for the sake of higher “moral” ideals?
