影片从1959年十月开始，根据突发新闻，好莱坞影星弗林（凯文·克莱恩饰）刚刚去世。他死在爱人——一位17岁的影坛新星贝弗莉（达科塔·范宁饰）的怀里。更让人惊讶的是，贝弗莉的母亲弗洛伦斯（苏珊·萨兰登饰）不仅清楚，并且允许了这段已经持续两年的恋情。影片随后通过弗洛伦斯的回忆，以及对记者的口述，重现了这段故事。。两个疏远的兄弟不情愿地在父亲的葬礼上在遥远的家乡团聚，成为当地一伙暴力暴徒手中敲诈勒索诈骗的目标。。In the film, a team of Special Forces commandos are in the middle of an operation when they’re abducted by a mysterious spacecraft.
