A young street magician is left to take care of his little sister after his mother's passing and turns to drug dealing in the Los Angeles party scene to keep a roof over their heads. When he gets into trouble with his supplier, his sister is kidnapped and he is forced to rely on both his sleight of hand and brilliant mind to save her。护士莉莉（露丝·威尔森 Ruth Wilson 饰）被雇佣照顾年迈的作家布拉姆夫人（狄波拉·哈利 Deborah Harry 饰），然而，在她照料的过程中，发生了一连串科学无法解释的诡异事件，令莉莉觉察到屋内有鬼。 之后，莉莉开始阅读布拉姆夫人写的一本关于鬼怪的小说，意外发现这些故事其实来自真实的经历：原先这栋房子的女主人被她的丈夫杀害后，尸体被藏匿在墙壁之内。最终，莉莉被拆除墙壁释放出来的鬼魂吓至死亡，而随后布拉姆夫人也离世了。接着，新的屋主搬进了这座房子，却毫不知情地成为了另一对鬼魂眼睛透过墙壁默默注视的对象。。
