警视厅搜查一课主任姬川玲子（竹内结子 饰）是一个干练果敢、作风彪悍的狮子座女刑警，她与下属菊田和男（西岛秀俊 饰）、石仓保（宇梶刚士 饰）、汤田康平（丸山隆平 饰）、叶山则之（小出惠介 饰）以及编外的井冈博满（生濑胜久 饰）共同组成了破案无数的姬川班。但是其一向靠直觉追查元凶的风格以及争抢好胜的性格，使得玲子在同侪之中饱受非议与苛责。她时常被其他部门称为“大小姐”、“公主”，甚至傲慢的老刑警胜俣健作（武田铁矢 饰）干脆称之为“乡下人”。尽管如此，这名有着不堪回忆的铁血女子在今泉春男系长（高岛政宏 饰）的支持下，率领姬川班一次又一次奔赴罪案现场，与每一桩血案背后的凶手展开斗智斗勇的较量…… 本片根据日本推理作家誉田哲也的同名悬疑小说改编。。Plebs is described as "a thoroughly modern comedy in an ancient setting."
